Aegate strengthens European presence with launch in Italy
Third European market within 18 months
Italy, March 5th 2008, Aegate has further strengthened its hold on the European market with the launch of its unique patient safety communications service in Italy at Cosmofarma 2008. Italy is the third European market to adopt its service and follows successful launches in Belgium, where the service was introduced in 2006 and Greece in 2007.
Aegate creates a real time communications link directly between pharmacists and pharmaceutical companies that increases the speed of patient safety communications reaching the pharmacist. This ultimately permits pharmacists to provide the best and most up to date advice to patients and assure the quality of medicines dispensing.
Aegate's service is fully integrated inside the existing pharmacy software, so that it operates smoothly and efficiently, only interrupting when there is information to take note of. To achieve we are delighted to announce the first four software companies already working with Aegate to provide this fully integrated service are CSF, Newline, PharmaService and Farma3. This will permit approximately 6000 pharmacies (34%) of the Italian pharmacy market to be able to use Aegate within the coming months.

Aegate already has the commitment from twenty-three of the leading pharmaceutical companies who have all pledged to work alongside Aegate to improve the safety of drugs that are dispensed to patients across Europe. It also has strong endorsement from local pharmacy associations in Greece and Belgium.
To deliver the patient safety service in Italy, Aegate has appointed Paolo Migliari as General Manager of the country. Bringing with him 16 years experience in consulting roles and strong ICT knowledge he will provide invaluable experience to the company as it makes its mark on its third European country.
